So...it's a long, complicated story, but, I'll try to whittle it down. Because I don't charge for my midwifery ministry services, I had to save for a long time to buy my first "midwife mobile". This was back in July of 2000. It was a 2.5 L manual transmission (I LOVE manual transmissions!) 1985 Jeep Cherokee. It was 15 yrs old when I bought it, and looked almost brand new. I loved that silly little car. I loved the conformation...how easy it was to load/unload equipment...the whole shebang.
Well. In January of 2002, my dd daughter #1, a senior at the time, took my car to take her SAT test...and rolled it. Totalled it. The body shop refused to repair it. I was so sad.
Since then, I have wanted to replace that Jeep: and, my dream was a Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ a manual transmission. Red, if possible, thank-you-very-much!
Fast forward to April of 2011...we sold our 1995 Dodge Caravan and bought a 2001 Ford Escape...it's almost "perfect", except it has an automatic transmission. (Darn!). Oh well. Beggars can't be choosy! But, I call it my "Jeep-in-training"...and, it is RED!! Hence, her name..."The Red Baroness".
I've done a couple of births, and I like it!
So...how about you? What is your "dream" vehicle?
Love, Karla
I have a red 2001 Ford Escape too! Great minds think alike, but now I want a minivan, too much stuff with these boys to haul around!
